Kids change fast — a look, a laugh, a way of holding someone's hand that won't last another year. A family session is a chance to hold onto exactly where you are right now, without the fuss of a formal shoot. We meet somewhere with good natural light — a beach, a park, a patch of bush, or your own backyard — and spend our time together letting the day unfold rather than staging it.
Real families, real light.
Families who want it real, not rigid.
Young families, growing families, families who've never done this before and aren't sure they'll enjoy it. If your kids won't sit still for a formal portrait, that's exactly the energy this style is built around.
Coordinated, not matched.
Soft, muted tones work best against natural light and won't fight with the background — think sand, sage, dusty blue, soft white. Steer clear of big logos, busy patterns, or anything neon; it pulls the eye away from faces.
Textures photograph beautifully — a linen shirt, a knit, a flowy dress. Everyone doesn't need to wear the same colour, just colours that sit comfortably together. Comfortable shoes matter more than you'd think, and if your little one has a favourite toy or blanket, bring it along — the real stuff is what makes these photos yours.
Kids are only this age once.

Once we're done, I go through everything and pick out the strongest moments — not just technically good shots, but the ones that actually feel like your family. Those get fully edited and delivered through a private online gallery you can view, download and share straight away. If you'd like more images, or something printed for the wall, that's all available through your gallery too.
What if it rains?
Weather-related rescheduling is always free and won't cost you your deposit.
Can we shoot at home instead?
Of course — some families feel most like themselves in their own space, and that comes through in the photos.
How far ahead should we book?
A few weeks is usually plenty, though it's worth booking earlier around Christmas and Mother's Day.
